UGH! Frustrating. I work for a huge corporation so I can understand, but seriously... my job description should warrant no-holds-barred internet usage. I like to google for ideas. BLAH.
Not sure how much I'll post now if I can't do it at work. :(

Try using proxy servers? Or putting 's' after http. Sometimes it works for me.
you should see if you can get them to make an exception. this is a design-related site where you can get design advice and troubleshooting help. there are sites that are blocked from my office and many times i get them unblocked with an email/phone call because there is justification for using it at work.
