different typeface? More CRITIQUES!!!

so ivan gave some good suggestions in the last post, but i was thinking that maybe, as said he said, that i needed the letters to be more rounded (to bring the balloon and font together), or at least the 'b'. However, i thinking that it might need a similar, yet rounded font altogether. Any suggestions?

Also, the 'e' i like, but i think it takes away from the simplicity. What do u think?

(..i need more than just ivan to help, although i do thanking you ivan, as well as anny38)

Yeah, the "e" may be too much. But have you tried rounding up the b? It will certainly work.

Maybe others don't like the whole idea at all and don't want to spoil our fun?! Guys speak up if it sucks! :)

I like the e (kind of reminds me a child looking up at their balloon smiling, what's more simple than a happy child), you kind of follow its slant to the balloon, I think it ties it in nicely. But yea I agree with Ivan I would definitely round up the b and see how that looks

but other than that I think it works IMO

Agree with Ivan--round up the 'b', place the WHITE balloon, flopped, to act as the negative space in the letter 'b'; and then have the balloon's string running as a wavy keyline beneath the 'lue'...just a thought.

this might seem silly to say, but do you all say that i should round the b, i should be rounding the edges of the 'b' or something else?

Personally I think this aesthetic is overdone (the whole clunky thick font paired with a simple illustration) but even though you want this to be simple, it still needs to be simple yet inspiring and this is not it. I like the idea proposed by 3dogmama if you still want to go ahead and use the font. Whatever you do, try integrating the illustration with the font more.

Nooooo! The 'e' is perfect. Gazing up at the floating balloon, my eye is drawn to what it is looking at. I think it's spot on. Personally, I think this recommended design tweak really makes the logo.

Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Yes, you're right. Keep the "e". I couldn't rationalize it, but now it falls in place.

Okay, thank you guys!
But do u think its finished?

Ivan's picture

Just bring the balloon the left a bit. That's it done!

If you're still experimenting, a font you might want to try is Pump. The lowercase b's are rounded and the e is slanted in a similar manner to yours. The bowl on the b is not connected to the stem which leaves a thin white line that might play off nicely as a reverse of the balloon. I know - you're back to the drawing board if you go that far - but it never hurts to take a quick look...
