Well, simply put theming is when you change the appearance of your operating system. For example if you don't like the Aqua look you can choose from many others here: http://www.macthemes.net/
I'm sure there are tonns of themes for Windows too, but I'm not quite sure where to look. :)
There's like loads to choose from, honestly. But I'm still stuck with the original XP theme but with a silver flavour. I like my desktop simple, clean and tidy. Only got 5 icons on it.
window blinds... it gives you:
Themes and styles for free.
themes and style editor for 'bout 20 bucks.
and a complete XP OS editor for 'bout 50.
It edits boot screens, login window, menues, icons, windows themselves, and also hot buttons on the desktop itself so you don't need a desktop with thousands or icons on it. and it is the only place i was able to find the OSX scrolling menu for the PC. I apologize for being a PC user.... but when you can have the beauty of a mac on a PC for half the price and twice the speed i cant go wrong. PC users do MOD out their machines to look like Macs. i have even seen a total PC system from chipsets to mother boards crammed into a Mac case.
I still use the same old Jaguar theme. Getting Tiger this Sat. so I might switch to some new view.

I have never themed my OS since the days of OS9 with what was it called.... ummm.... was it kaleidoscope? or something along those lines that many ppl found to be buggy and would make the OS sluggish. Since then I have never themed my OS. So what do you guys think about theming the OS. Do you guys think it makes he OS sluggish or do you think with the fast processors and video cards that it is hardly noticeable? I work in an environment where we have some pretty smart MAC OS people who develop applications for the Mac OS and I am afraid to even ask them about theming the OS. None of them theme their OS.
It all boils down to user preference. I used to theme OS X and as far as performance goes, it wasn't even noticable. Several months ago I stopped using themes and reverted back to the default OS X skin. Simply put, it's tough to beat.

What's theming?
Change styles,colors,icons and stuff..
Making it more personal or more like your taste..
