Hello!
sorry but I don't like this level of connection between 3D and 2D.
IMHO you can make a 3D logo plus 2D logotype (as Mozilla Firefox or Xerox) but this kind of intersection you made is really annoying and cheap.
it's like you are offering someone to eat and drink at same time.
I think it's not a case of "breaking rules"... maybe an issue of being polite or not with your audience's visual learnings.
yes I'm brazilian xD
1st of is it a Firm from Middle-east? why? because the visual alignment is from left to right, may be its the support of the font.
2nd 1000% support to @qwertyales comment & nothing to repeat. Anyways I hate complected, non vector, printer unfriendly, non-minimal 3D logos.
3rd Best of luck.
Thanks!

I like 3D even shadow blurs. I know that we're moving to all 3D media but I think that some simulations are still "over" and this is the exact case of kitschy "Be Innovative using CorelDRAW " attempt.
yes I'm brazilian xD
kind of reminds me of

or
living on dreams and custard creams.
thank you guys for your critics... the client wanted a logo with the same feeling of thier corporate logo (same colors+ same style typo) but more technological and with stand-alone icon for multi use and deferent product levels it will be also used in software, printed materials and package.
@ranamaju : yes it's a moroccan firm (product), the word (e-dmaj) is an arabic word, originaly (idmaj ادماج) it means INTEGRATION, double sens (integrating small and mid-size business in the modern business management) and (Integrating software solutions) the word is writen with (e-) to make it look more IT.
Interestingly, when I was trying to make sense of the name in English, I was thinking of two musical chords — E and D Major. :)
That logo will give you nothing but trouble down the road.
