Email signature on gmail iphone and ipad

When using the mobile version of gmail on the iphone or ipad in safari I don't seem to get the same functionality as the regular gmail.

For example the email signatures are not applied and I could not find any way to set them up. In fact there seems to be no settings at all.

Also, when I send emails from a mobile device my own emails are marked and appear as unread on regular gmail. I don't get why is this a good idea. Why does google think that I want to revisit my emails sent from mobile devices once I return to my desk?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dealing with your second point first - emails appearing unread when you've read them on your mobile device:
Sounds like you have set up gmail as POP rather than IMAP (I think that happens by default when you use the iphone/pad gmail setup). There's a good google walk-through here:

You can set up an email signature, but to the best of my knowledge you can only set up one signature to use across all of your accounts. Don't know if this will change with iOS4 (today!), but I suspect not.
