If the client loved it, bill him $14 and go have a beer.
Seriously - out of everything you posted - this one (and Zama 2) are probably the closest to actual logos. Simple is a good thing when it comes to logos. Now figure out how to suggest engraving and make it memorable. Iow, another...
Reboot!
What the hell swoosh was he talking about?? I just see two squashed circles and New Times Roman.

Art - yet another memorable comment from you. Not every logo has to have a artistic representation of what the company sells... Does apple have a computer in their logo, does Nike have shoes? I have been in the design business for quite some time and only rudimentary artists have to place an image into every logo.
Leaky - the two circles are what I was talking about. They form a sort of swoosh that was far overused in the early to mid 90's.
Look guys, I posted these for honest critiques, not snide comments.
I never said put an image in there (although the Apple logo IS an apple...) - I said find a way to SUGGEST engraving and make it memorable. Nike does not have a shoe for a logo - what they have is something memorable that SUGGESTS a shoe. A logo is supposed to be iconic and memorable. This is neither. That is a serious assessment from a design standpoint.
You show your age on this, as well as your knowledge. The Nike symbol has nothing to do with shoes. It is an ancient symbol for the greek goddess of victory, and a daughter of the giant Pallas and the Okeanid nymph Styx.
And although the Apple logo is an apple, how does it fit into what they do, as you have stated all of the logos I have shown need to do?
this logo sucks, get over it.
You are an asshole, get over it.
and you're a winy peddler looking for praise, get over it.
Just like you wanna call out people being rude to you, I'm gonna call you out on every shitass design you post.
I "show my age" on this? So what you're saying is you were around when the Greek gods were cavorting on the planet earth? That is where the NAME "Nike" originated, but I highly doubt that is where the logo originated since the company would not be able to register (protect) something that was in the public domain. I could be wrong, but what difference does it make since the Nike swoosh - one way or the other - DOES "suggest"...

What does the Apple logo suggest? AN APPLE. As in APPLE computers. It makes you think of the company name. It's simple, it's iconic and it's memorable. NONE of your "logos" fit in that category. Sorry.
There is nothing nuance about this design. The choice of the circles represent nothing. engraving is all about fine technical skill, a level of refinement and sophistication. The circles say nothing to this. They are a poor choice of color (don't care if it was previous or not) and are waaaay too close to the comma and period. I mean cmon, that's bs for a person of your "experience" to not pick up on that glaring problem.
Also, the typeface is boring and again does not exude that sense of refinement and detail that engraving connotes.
+1
