Now this one isn't a mockup. It's the finished site. It's a fair bit different from my previous designs and a bit minimalist, I know, but I'm happy with it and think it's functional and elegant.
Preview images are at 50%, FYI. Some of the text might look too light but it's more readable on the actual pages (I may adjust some of the colors if it seems necessary).

Looks good. Now you need a good web url...
...esdesignportfolio.com is available... so you are taken more seriously. Nothing screams "no-cost webhosting" than a stringy site address or one with banner ads sprawled across the top. If you are putting your name out there for services, whether web or print, your website should appear as professional as possible. Most decent registrars include an option to "mask" your domain name... so you could actually keep the website at the comcast address, and mask over it with the new address - then to anyone accessing the site with the good url, they won't know the difference. (not the best way to keep a large site, but it will work great for a 1 page or a smaller business who is slowly building their web presence on a limited budget.)
Good luck with your business... self promotion is the hardest thing to get perfect.

I know... I was looking at
I know... I was looking at available domains earlier today. The one you suggested is good (since esdesign.com is already taken). I'm not totally serious about going into freelancing just yet, but I want to have a solid website/portfolio out there at least.
Not too different
The site itself doesn't say a lot about you, but the content will.
Otherwise, it's clean, looks easy to navigate. My favorite kind of personal website.

Really great, one thing though...
Really nice work and a very nice portfolio selection too.
One thing that bothers me quite a bit, when you choose a portfolio item you need to give your visitors some direction back to the main page. I would advise you put a back to main link, and a contact link on every portfolio item page. I know its only petty and people have a browser back button, but I feel by not having the links to help your visitors follow a path, you're going to lose out.
Again, great work, just need that little extra.

Ah
I thought of that (a link back to the front page) but didn't. But with your comment, I think you're right, and I will. And a contact link too? I guess I could do that as well.
yeah a contact too
The way I see it, you want people to do the following
1. See front page, see work
2. click on item of work
3. go back to main page and look at another piece / 3. contact you for doing work

Yup
Makes sense to me... I implemented those changes a little while ago.

I bookmarked your page. I like it so much, I'm coming back... and I emailed your URL {URI} to another friend. Word-Up!
Not bad at all!
Not bad at all!
I am a little disappointed you let go of the strong logo in v1. But overall nicely done.
