sneeze (11 points) | Thu, 2009-11-05 00:35Hello,
I've just found this forum and I'm glad because I get to know the Illustrator and design. That's why I need your opinion and advise.
I'm trying to make this logo for estatestate.com . Be strict :)
Thanks a lot!

Lots of green. Nothing really stands out.
Are you a designer?

I wonder what this will look like in black and white or coming through on a fax machine... Hmmm

Perhaps you are right...I'll try to make it more clearly and brightly soon. Any proposition about colours? ...of course I'm not a designer, but would be great to become one.
Thanks
lol pretty it in pink :)
it's good to choose a color related to their business or owner ideas/suggestion.
you need a briefing.
yes I'm brazilian xD
You need to provide us with a brief. This means a description of the client (imaginary or real), what their business does, what they want you to help them achieve with your design, how it will be used (business collaterals, packaging, environmental signage, advertising (and in what media) and so on. I have no way of knowing if this design is successful in that context.

Holy Jolly Green Giant, Batman!
I love lime green too, but have you tried other colors? Or, more than one?
maybe green must be the next coolest collor who knows:

I like the second one, but I agree there is a lot of green. I would take out the background and border, but leave the thick border on the text. I think that gives it a little more foundation especially when it connects to that oval that I think would be the shadow or base of the building. Also if you are considering other colors I might try a blue with a little bit of grey in it to give it a little bit of a subtle feel. It's also a very professional and serious color, and real estate is very boring. Your logo illustration will counter this I think with how it looks.
Lose the building, render in black and white only prior to introducing colour.
Look more into the State of eState.

#2 looks like the genesis of something to me. I'd try introducing some black or blue (as mentioned before) if you're going for a "money look". You can do a two color piece with variations of color using screens of the green, the green with black for a darker shade and then touches of solid black for contrast.
I prefer 2 as well. I think the more abstract building is cleaner and simpler while still getting the idea across. I like the outline because it seems to help the text sit better - makes it all look quite sticker like.
Actually, this is reminding me a lot of the Comedy Central logo.
