Extensis Portfolio 8
Waleed (539 pencils) | Fri, 2006-06-30 08:12Howdy,
I use iView MediaPro to catalog my work, but after the recent press release of Microsoft buying them, I decided to look for alternatives.. It's just something in me, I just cannot support Microsoft by funding them in any way.. Anyhow..
Extensis Portfolio 8 seems to be the alternative so far.. Any comments? Pros/Cons?
Many thanks :-)
Waleed

I would just use Bridge from CS2. It works great. Although portfolio may handle searchable data better.
I use Bridge when I browse volume content, but it cannot archive offline volumes (hard disks, CDs, DVDs). It's important in my workflow that I search for the photo I want throughout the archives (example: client name/date.. Or by category: red fruit... then get apple, strawberry, melon, ...) and when I double click on the desired photo, the program requests the disk by name.
Thanks ReThink

Then I beleive Extensis Portfolio is it. I've only used it a bit, but I know other people who swear by it. And, I can't really think of anything else that would be as powerful.
