Extracting text from a PDF
designbyjez (80 pencils) | Mon, 2007-10-15 10:02Hello
Can anyone help me? I'm using Acobat 7 and I need to extract text from a PDF document i've been sent so that it can be 'pasted' in to another document
It's a 45 page document of pretty much solid text with occasional graphic or chart. I use my text selection tool and go to 'select all' but it will only select the text on that page.
How can i get it to select all the text on all 45 pages in one go?? i don't want to have to go through each page selecting text as this PDF is one of 10 that have to be done and some of them have up to 60 pages of solid text (yes it is as dull as it sounds!)
Thanks

Change the page view in the lower right corner to 'Continuous'. Then the select all text command should grab everything in the document.
I assume you can't get a hold of the original document? Are you recreating it?

nope, no chance of getting original doc.
It will take a while - but i'm charging by the hour for the job. i was just trying to see if i could find a short cut to do it before charging longer than it would have taken..
cheers any ways!

Didn't you try my method above? Changing the page view worked for me in the test I ran.
