Eye Catching Resumes and mailing promos?

I was just curious to know do any of you guys use mailing promos and if so, do you have any eye catching or unique concepts? I have an idea for my resume, since I'd love to get into editorial work, you can see it in the critiques section. I have to come up with a mailout of sorts to go with the idea of the magazine spread, or maybe just something altogether since I doubt I'd be mailing them together...what about you guys?
