F@#&KING MACBOOK!!! (AKA CRAPBOOK)
plugz (1244 pencils) | Fri, 2007-06-01 15:24Apologies for the CAPS LOCK.
My bastard MacBook has died again 4 weeks after I got it back from having a new logic board fitted. This time I think the hard drive has died, it's not showing in the disk utility and nether the OS X or Windows partition are available as a start-up disk...
I'm almost tempted to buy a PC.
This is my 3rd Mac laptop and the 10th time one of them has died.
The only one that has been trouble free is the 12" PowerBook I'm on now.
Whinge, bitch, moan, sob etc.

You're just trying to start another "invite me too" thread. :)
Sorry 'bout the book. Hope they get it right this time.
I've had a couple of friends get upgrades through Apple's "I give up/We can't fix it" program, so stick in there and make them do the right thing. Might end up with a new rig for your trouble.

Sod that, this is going on eBay as soon as it's fixed and being replaced with a MacBook Pro.

Sorry to hear. :(
Interesting...
When I was at the Apple Store every single person in the queue and at the desk except two had a MacBook they were taking in for service.
Glad it's not just me having problems.

I finally received a new machine (after numerous repairs at Apple) when I told them it was a graduation gift from my grandmother (which it was) and it was their duty to keep her wishes intact (seriously!).
I went to the Apple store on Thursday and bought a new MacBook which is stupidly faster than the old one.
I got a black 2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD etc. Just having 802.11n has made the speed seem even faster than it really is as I've got a lot of network storage and file transfers have shot up.
The old one will be going up on eBay as soon as I've got the new drive in it.

I have had a lot of Macs, and still have. From iBooks to PowerBooks, going to iMacs, MacBooks and MacBooks Pro I never had a single problem with an Apple computer!
I think you are just unlucky! :(
that one had seven logic boards.
On the plus side, my G3 iMac and G4 powerbook are still running like a dream.
