I like where you're going, but what about making the the goose look more comically surprised- right now, he looks kind of angry.... unless of course, it being angry is part of the comedy- though I'm afraid if that's true, I don't get it yet.
I like the illustration- the goose is great! Maybe put a little shading on the crown, since everything else with the goose is shaded.
I might spell out christmas too, but that's just a personal preference.
Merry Christmas and happy designing! : )
The type looks very much "just put there", that needs some work.
I really like the illustration, I agree the expression does look a bit like he/she looks is p'd off lol - but wouldnt we all if we were stuffed up for xmas so thats pretty cool :) I do agree about the shading on the paper crown, looks a bit flat compared to the rest.
I've included a suggestion below, welcome to Creative Bits!
(font is called "zipty do" .. im not sure where I got it I think it was a free font on a design mag cd)

Wow! Great! Thanks. I'm a newbie to Creativebits but I'm loving it already. The feedback is very useful!
Jammo - I agree about the text looking 'put there' and your suggestion is very helpful
On second glance the goose does look quite angry but I was actually thinking about giving him a speech bubble along the lines of "I'm not fat, I'm just big-boned" (so he's basically annoyed/insulted)
Innesfactor - I will work on the crown as I agree it looks a little flat.
Thanks!

might be nice, (and something a little bit different) ... have the speech bubble on the inside left cover, as if the goose is shouting at you whilst you're readingthe inside of the card.
That will then keep the front free from clutter.
