So this is long over and beats out any of the designs i had attempted
(and not one of them i posted , sorry, at least not since the "hand" from a few months back http://creativebits.org/non-prof_film_fest_poster_idea )
but i would like to know if it's any GOOD. And if there are anything i may have missed.

I have a couple friends from Red Bank NJ! Are you from there or just doing the poster?

Whats the font you are using for that main title, its killer...
synthesis maybe?
So I have been VERY involved -- after 3 years I have decided it's too much volunteer work for me. So, if your friends are STILL near R.B. and are designers... it's a great opportunity for a professional looking to branch out beyond pharmaceutical company ads.
And "Hammer fat" is a phat font!
my friends from Red Bank are Film/Video majors at my school, so not designers really.

Well, if they go back home, ask them to consider getting involved in running the festival- they are really fun young peeps, or to check out the Asbury Park Black Box at SICA in Long Branch to test run their work in front of a small audience of filmmakers and artists.
Wow! what a tangent.
Really like the blue treatment on the building kinda eerie or interesting, had a slight problem with type over Film Festival actually just 5th annual.. figure would be fine viewed actual size.. over all i liked it did you take the photo also? nice arrangement with the street light. the marketing director, who is a professional photographer, took daytime shots of the town. the streetlight angle is all her own, but i copied the lamp onto a layer to add a glow effect to it.
I had a LOT of problems getting the type to be legible. Everyone else kept saying it looked great, but i knew there was something wrong, both with style and thickness. It wasn't until i used the 'hammer fat' that it came together. I was still concerned about the legibility, but at the same time i didn't want to lose the brightness of the blue or the detail of the building which is recognizable to residents.
