Like the music, like the resize effect. Soft and gentle layout. Congrats. Would not change a thing.
Just a few functionality problems, with rollovers jumping states. Maybe speed up some timing issues too, and change your easing in and out to make thing look more realistically animated...
Nice use of SlideShow pro, well integrated. I might fix some design issues, spacing and font choices. Like the grey boarder on the homepage in the green box i don't think is nessary and type on the guestbook page give more padding. Objects seem to be competing in size a little.
Overall good beginning though, good luck.
Here's my visceral reaction to the home page in its static form as displayed above.
Two-Color Background Color Scheme: Brown is unique, but I have a hunch that black would be more dramatic and sharpen the contrast.
Vanishing Point: The eye is directed to the lower left corner but there's currently nothing to see when you get there. How about moving that "Text Bubble" from the upper left corner to the vanishing point in the lower left corner? To my eye, there's too many elements in the upper left corner text bubble and some could be eliminated.
The Green Text Block On The Right Hand Side: The text block balances the page but being semi-transparent really makes the white text hard to read. Eliminating the transparency effect will make the white text far more readable against a solid green background. I know it's a pain, but I would also try to reduce the number of words in the Green Text Block. Less is More . . . more comprehensible.
The Brown Buttons: Skewing the text and buttons off of horizontal is distracting and seriously detracts from the readability. It looks gimmicky. Buttons are utilitarian and meant to be unobtrusive. I would be willing to bet that if you align the buttons and their text horizontally that you will like it.
Anyway, these are my observations. The great thing about designing your own website is that you get to decide on the look.
Thanks everyone for their comments. that was the first critigue i've done. its good to have things brought to your attention that you just dont notice while working on a site. this was actually a site I did for my friend so some of the things he specificaly asked for.. such as the buttons haha. thanks again!
