Fixing Corrupt JPGs
wedgin (267 points) | Fri, 2005-09-16 13:14I have a bunch of corrupt JPGs that were recovered from a drive quite awhile ago. They were all personal pictures and I would like to try resurrecting them as they were the only copies I had. They still seem to have the normal file size, but I can't get anything to open them. Can anyone recommend a program or anything for fixing corrupted jpgs?

Went around snooping Google and I saw this
Why not give IrfanView a shot?
I'll have to give it a go tonight when I get home. Hopefully it will solve my problem. Thanks

I had luck opening currupt jpegs with PS using the File/Import/Pict resource instead of Open.
GraphicConverter is great at this kind of thing. It will open pretty much anything and save it whatever format you need.
It's like BBEdit for images. Super useful.
