Flash help/hints..

I am creating a new site for a client, who wishes to have a flash scrolling banner of sorts at the bottom, which will display products and able to link to specific pages, similar to this:

Has anyone ever created anything like this? Not sure how in depth it is, if it's even something I can create with my basic Flash knowledge, or if there is a way to create it without Flash?

and I'd use Javascript to build it.
Google jQuery and carousel, and you'll be on your way.
