Folder Action script image conversion - Doesn't!
Sooty (5 pencils) | Sat, 2005-04-16 06:35It's a great site which I just know I shall enjoy, but already already I'm in trouble. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but not sure what... Please help.
I installed with interest Ivan's FASIC suggestion but it isn't working for me. My process varied in two, possibly key aspects from the one Ivan describes: Downloading the script occured in a new browser window and when I 'save it" or "save it as' in the appropriate location, a dialogue box asked if I wanted to append a '.txt' extension. I answer no, so it saves the file without a 'scpt' extension. Naturally I add the "scpt" extension manually - but either way the "Select Screen Capture Format" dialgolue box still doesn't appear when I click on a screen capture file neting on the desktop.
What am I doing wrong?
Also, why can't I get screen capture to work direct from the browser (or any app actually): EG. Safari/Services/Grab .. then one of the three Screen, Selection and Timed selection boxes which are always greyed out? I have to go to Finder/Apps/Utilities/Grab etc et ... what a drag!
Any help would be appreciated - Take care!

Click the file and Apple-I to get the info and see if the Hide extension option is off. Once it's off you can see if the extension is correct. Grab wont work with this script. You have to use the Apple-Shift-3 or similar key combo. It should save the file to your desktop, which initiates the script. Let me know if you still have problems.
