Font selection question

I work for a school - I teach Journalism (among other things) and advise for the newspaper. We're trying to do a redesign of the paper and we're required to be consistent with the school's new graphic identity.

The school uses Garamond on all official communications, so I think that we're married to that font as our serif font for all body copy in the paper. I now need a sans-serif to use for headline copy and caption copy (unless someone is good enough with fonts to recommend a third font for captions).

Any ideas?
