General board question

Apparently whenever I post to a thread it automatically subscribes me to that thread and any updates are emailed to my yahoo account. That's a wonderful feature, but I just want to know one thing...
How do I shut it off?
Any help would be appreciated.

Subscriptions > settings in your account. You need to uncheck a box or two.
