Get a Design done for 15 bucks

Well, if the site design is any indication... :) But great marketing for sure.

Hehe, doesn't cost much. Companies could just e-mail him to take a $15 gamble and see what he comes up with.

Not sure how long it'll take for him to either get tired of this or raise his fee.

I think he's probably doing it for his portfolio, he gets the company names, does the designs for them, puts it on his resume. At that price, he can't be bothered to make revisions. I kinda like it.

I want to see samples

Great idea. Sometimes that´s the kind of input you need to get a start with a website design. I guess if I would see some samples it could be interessting even for me.

you have to give the guy some credit. how many of us could just throw some unused shit into a template and hand it off to an unwitting client? probably all of us.

and he gives no guaranty of satisfaction. hell, at that price, i might throw a low budget client at him ; )

marketed in the right places. dude could CLEAN UP in an easy 8 hour day...
while the rest of us toil away creating "good design" working overtime.

Nothing against the guy - he'll knock himself out for very low pay imho. But quite frankly one of the reasons I charge the high end of the going rate is because it clears out all the cheapskates. Those are the people you deal with when you can't get good clients - because you have no choice. Why would you want to appeal to them?

I'm guessing he's not going to burn out easily. Think about it, there's nothing on the site that says he's going to give a unique and fully customized site. He's probably got 4 or 5 "designs" already comped up in Photoshop - all he has to do is drop in your logo and change some colors to match. He can probably rip out 5 or more an hour - AND have no stress doing it.
