good free php shopping carts?

Can anyone recommend a good

free php shopping cart to integrate

with existing web sites?

I'm looking at the free http://www.oscommerce.com/ , it's

hard to customize the look of it and it's more like a standalone shopping mall.

I wish there was a good free php cart to seamlessly integrate with an existing site.

that's a tough one. i think much depends on what you're selling. is the product downloadable or to be mailed?

I've set up a number of shopping carts ranging from PayPal to X-Cart and ZenCart (which is a more actively developed branch of osCommerce). The bottom line is that if you want to have any kind of sales options (shipping, quantity discounts, etc) then you need a full software package, and it will take some work to integrate it into your site. But there's no reason that you can't make osCommerce or ZenCart appear seamless if you build out a template for it to match your existing site.

It would be great if one of the open-source CMS packages had really good ecommerce built in, but so far I haven't found anything satisfying. Drupal looks like it might be promising in that direction but they still have a long way to go. I'm building a site right now that uses Drupal as the CMS, ZenCart for ecommerce, and phpBB for the forum. Very awkward, but at least it gets the best of all worlds, and it looks (almost) seamless to the user.
