Ah yea, back in 7th grade, on the PowerPCs using Altavista, back in the days before you had to worry about spyware and popup ads. We were so innocent back then.
Google's basically awesome. Their site is nice and clean, and they offer awesome services like GIS, Calculator, Maps, Phone Number searches, and all sorts of little easter eggs. That's why I use 'em.
I think Google won mainly because it was like pulling teeth to get listed on yahoo back then. It's pretty easy to get listed on google, whereas yahoo really constricted the amount of content listed on their search.
