Google's goofy birthday logo

You know I'm not a fan of the Google logos, but the latest one is really outrageous. As I was telling a friend of mine the only thing missing are the candles for me to throw up. I feel like in kindergarden.
but you got to give them credit for spending the time on doing these!
i'd be fun to see more companies playing with their logos (almost sounds dirty!).
...the "7" replacing the "l", reminds me of the movie.
Candles would've been far nicer!

Eh... what else could they have done with it? I mean.. I don't really expect them to go through a long development process with sketches and refinements and all that just for a fun little logo mod to commemorate an occasion. And at least it was nicely illustrated... it could have just been some clip art!
I read somewhere that there's a fulltime designer there just for the holiday logos.
