Green Science Logo
mokenke (315 pencils) | Fri, 2007-08-03 02:36This is one of a few concepts for a logo for Green Science:Ecology for Everyone. It is an exhibition that is currently in search of sponsors and needs some visual direction. The exhibition will be targeted to start in Los Angeles and will be directed to the Science Center type of crowd. My client liked this one from of about 7 options. I attached my illustrator file (initial drafts and ideas)

i like the second one in the white part...
It's not bad. But it could be better. The icon looks like 3 different elements, I would make the 3 into 1. And that leaf needs some work. Also, so you think you should also make the tagline lowercase?

It's a good start. Nice, clean. Just needs some work. I would make the text elements more seam-less (or if the text is meant to be seperate, make it more obvious). Next, the leaf also does not really seem like it should be coming out of that g. I would work on connecting the tail of the g to the leaf better. The bottom tail of the g looks off.
I'd also bring the dot of the "i" down a click or two.
First of all, you're illustrator file didn't attach.
You've got a good start, but I think it's just a little too busy. I'm specifically talking about the "G to the S power growing a leaf". It's just a little too much to think about, and a bit distracting.
Like Pokie mentioned, you're leaf doesn't go smoothly into the "G". Break down the "G" and make a smooth transition into the leaf. Also, neither does the "S". It just looks kind of copied and pasted together.
Am I correct the "S" is small because it's like "to the power of" type of thing? All mathematical? Heh. Because if it doesn't have a purpose I would make it bigger.
If you could post some more drafts it would be greatly appreciated.
There are a lot of these "Go Green" type logos going around right now. I would say come up with something a little more clever than a leaf if you can. :)
