Hallmark Scrapbook

Hi this is my second post and it just happens to be another online scrapbooking store. The client wanted something new and did not really give me more direction than that which is good, and bad. I tried to go for a "online shopping" look and wanted to avoid HALLMARK looking sriptive fonts. If you are wondering about the random ladybug its becuase she has designers working for her that she calls the Hallmark ladybugs, so I wanted to very subtly throw that into one of the designs. Let me know what you think.

I like the third one down on the left and the two lower ones on the right column (but lose the dropshadow). The other ones on the left are just too busy. The 3rd one on the left has a more childlike feel, not sure if that was what you were going for. I'm sure a lot of scrapbookers are moms so I think it works. I would however make the tagline larger since it is difficult to read at a small size. I like how you incorporated the scissors. The two lower ones on the right have a very feminine touch with the scissors resembling a flower. I'm not sure how I feel about the overlapping of the scissors on the bottom one. All three are nice, I think my preference would be the one on the left. Nice work.

Sorry, but the three on the left with the scissors pointing down have a sort of big-boob thing happening where you wanted the double-"o" to be the scissor handles, with the scissor blades becoming legs. Maybe it's just me.

The lower right one is nice, but without the other designs to guide me into thinking "scissors," I'm not sure the scissors in that one really say "scissors."

The middle one on the right is too staid, I think.

The one that I prefer in te upper right give the impression of "gift," or "ribbon" as well as scissors, which I think is appropriate. If you need to incorporate a ladybug in that one, you could exchange it for the circle where the blades of the scissors meet.

Ok, now all I'll see are big boobs in the left one (thanks Mara :P). I still like the idea of incorporating the scissors. Maybe you could stylize it more like the ones on the right, not sure how that would read.
I think if you do go with the upper right one, perhaps you could add a different color to make it a little more interesting visually. Or if you include the ladybug like Mara suggested that would be a nice complementary color scheme. I'm also wondering how the ribbon would look without the harsh outline.
Good luck.

"I wanted to very subtly throw that into one of the designs"
seeing as it's not needed, and it doesn't really have any meaning to anyone outside of the office, then it's useless baggage. If i were looking at this logo not knowing ANYTHING about your description, then i'd wonder what the hell the ladybug was there for.

mara brought up a great point that the scissor designs start to look like a woman, which makes it hard to avoid not in that direction. Using the the third one down on the left, maybe you can try to incorporate the last "o" and the "k" to make the scissors going sideways. i can picture something in my head, but can't really explain it. i'd sketch it out and show you but i'm at the office till late tonight and don't have access to the scanner.

nice start with everything.
keep us posted.

I like the third down left side. After reading the post about the "boobs" its really visible. Try playing with the blades to the right possibly creating the "k" without the letter.
