First round had a lot of positive feedback, everyone saying they liked it. However, half of the critiques felt the mark fell short of communicating massage therapy.
To address this, I added the lotus flower, a symbol of purity and health which appears to be a common illustration of massage therapists.
Furthermore, I have extruded the drop shadow from center point giving the mark motion ascending towards the symbolic lotus.
He shoots! Does he score?

closer. but now instead of looking like a logo for a loaf of bread. it looks like the logo for a loaf of bread from hawaii
this does bring it closer into alignment with the service. but i still say the direction is completely wrong. nothing says massage like 3d extruded text
don't remember seeing the first round.
i think this is an interesting looking mark, but i'm not sure the feel is 'massage.' honestly, from the thumbnail i was thinking product mark, like a fresh fruit.
maybe it's the lotus at the small size that started that in my mind, but i think it was the typography that got me in that direction. that weight and style doesn't really seem appropriate for massage, which to me usually would convey more of a 'new age' kind of feel. think about the music and atmosphere of a massage and think about what kind of typography that inspires.
Oh well. Can't win'm all. Thanks for the critiques guys. Much appreciated.

Same here. Great art - just totally inappropriate imho.
Also think the lotus looks a little cockeyed the way one side disappears behind the "P".
a smaller lotus (60-70% size) is better and don't use so different collors, I prefer the same red&blue to feel like a tatoo or stamp.
it's becoming more "alternative medicine" without lose the western feeling.
I think you could explore indian themes because it's just mid orient and has britain culture inside.
The extrude has some problems... the "wave" bring us some tension and weight.
Test b&w versions too.
yes I'm brazilian xD
You still think it has some potential? Don't tease me qwerty! I have a lot of ego attachment to the mark.
Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.
Start dialing those Hawaiian bread companies!
I imagine somethink like this angle
- smaller
- blue&red.
- lighter caligraphic type
yes I'm brazilian xD
I like the first round better, the mark behind the type does not do it justice.
Looks very busy and cartoonish now with a lot going on.
I really like it with just the type, and I could definitely adapt the idea of it being a massage therapist after a while. =)

i kinda see the image qwerty used converted into a logo very stylized with the colors you are currently using for the text which in my opinion are great! the mark would be above the *anna* small enough to fit there without making it feel opressed.
i would loos the extruded effect. just the text which is nice but i feel it is kinda arched right, do it like that but maybe a little less curved
I really like the idea behind this. Conceptually it's fantastic but technically, I would like to see at least one bold colour to have an element stand out. Maybe a bolder stroke, make a vivid red for the lotus.
I like.

Thanks for all the help guys. If I listened to your advice then double thanks . If I DIDN'T listen to your advice, triple thanks.

whoa, dude, that's awesome.
Change the text to 'licensed sports massage therapist' and it is totally in context, it reminds me of a baseball emblem (I from england, so forgive me if I am wrong, we play cricket). Love the action of the retro sports style logo with the muted calming colours of a spa.
Someone said before 'BP logo', that needs changing, but apart from that I can see this working.
Work on that scroll and background. I think you are onto something nice here.
living on dreams and custard creams.
I think it has room for more deconstruction, more lined thing, to go with black & white like a stamp. I feel it still has much filled style for this business, prefer something more zen style, less heavy than this one.
Liked the less color you used and would like to see the B&W version of this.
yes I'm brazilian xD
Awesome you have the BP logo in the background.

I don't understand why everyone likes the idea of the lotus symbol.
It is overused and cliché in my opinion.
I do however, like the way you have stylized it.
As mentioned before, I like it with JUST the type, I think it says enough.

If you add one more item to this thing, I'm going to tell Adobe to confiscate your Illustrator license.
Still lov... like it. Still think it's not a massage logo.
i will echo the "it's still not a massage logo" sentiment.
interesting, for sure. but it really doesn't feel massage like at all to me.
I really like the original version. I think there is too much going on now, im confused where to look. I loved the simplicty of the name which reminded me of a old school sporting logo, which ties in perfectly. Less isnt always more, but i think this time it is.
What i've been trying to say all along—finally someone agrees with me!

I feel like the drop shadow on the words are way too large and long. What happens when you take the white stroke off the letters and have a much smaller shadow? How about making the LMT (spelled out and fitting across the length of the logo itself? I like the small caps font.
I agree with above about using a different view of the flower.
great start!
