Well I'm in Melbourne at the moment but it makes me proud to be Irish when everyone is willing to suffer the indignity of wearing little green hats and getting drunk on our behalf :lol:

Paddy's Day these days is clouded by partying but the real reason we do it is to give thanks for what we are, what we've endured, and what we've achieved.

That said, it is an American invention by Irish soldiers in the British army celebrating someone who was probably Welsh.It maskes sense after a few drinks. No Guinness though, that's awful crap, better to try a cold pint of Kilkenny.
