HeavyMail
paul burd (59 points) | Wed, 2005-04-20 18:25This is the latest site I've done. It's for HeavyMail. They make software that is used to send large files and folders (up tp 2GB) via "email". They didn't really have any Identity to play off of, and didn't have the budget to go through an identity design process (they're a startup). I designed a pseudo logo for them and the website.
The site is live and I won't be making changes, but I was curious to get some feedback, good or bad.
The live site can be seen at http://www.heavymail.com

Btw, this one is a similar service: http://www.yousendit.com/
Yep, I've seen that. The heavymail guys have a similar "online" service. It's called bonpoo... http://www.bonpoo.com I did the logo, and simple page layout for it.

Looks good!
Just one pseudo logo suggestion. If you would put tape on bottom of the box the same way as it's on the top the left side would form a letter H. You know what I mean?
Hey, thats a great idea!
Great idea! Maybe I'll propose it to them. Good eye:)

It was very nice, clean and simple.. I also agree with Ivan (it's not that vital, but it could enchance the experience a little)
I'm curious, where did you buy/download those business pictures? They were pretty nice..
Most of them I've had for a long time. I think almost all came from http://www.gettyimages.com They are one of the best sources for stock, but they're not cheap.

I love the minimalistic design and love the use of colors but then again like Ivan, I love orange and grey :) So just that alone got me to like the site :)
Over all there is nothing bad I can point out about the site. I did sneak a peek at your code hehehe and noticed you are using tables. I guess you haven't moved to using CSS for layout yet :) Other than hating tables I love the site.
Great logo suggestion by Ivan :)
Yep, still using tables. I've been doing it that way for a long time now and old habbits are heard to break. I've started using CSS for basic text formatting, but haven't had the time to dive in further. :)
