Helen scott logo (for the last time I promise)
hels (34 pencils) | Wed, 2010-06-09 04:01Okay this is the last time I post this damn logo. You must all be really sick of it (but not as much as I am)
Have lost all faith in the design of it - I don't like any.
so if you can post any feedback that will help me put this to bed that would be great.
all comments appreciated so far - not sure I agree with the 80's reference but since I wasn't around then I probably shouldn't comment.

Use #2 until lightning strikes. One day you'll be washing your hair or something and something amazing will come to you. Right now you're thinking too hard - you have creative brain freeze. Use #2 - just change it to "graphic design" - drop the "er".
As always...jmho.
thanks yep I think you are right - again.
I love the first one. That, to me, is the clear winner here.

Check out what I've been up to lately!

I'm going to print it out and eat it.

#1 with a bit lower height for type!
yes I'm brazilian xD
I'm cool with #1 too except for a couple things...
1) I only see an "H" which would work if your LAST name was "Helen"
2) Those tiny dots are already disappearing.
3) The center crossbar should either be two equal sized circles or one circle the size of the dark green one (my preference). Right now the mark is totally symmetrical except for the crossbar.
Logo #2 was my first choice because it's obvious you like that one since you keep posting it. But none of these are longterm solutions imo.
Yes I agree that none of these are long term but I think I have to move on....
does this shape work better as a mix of h and s?
the type from the top one. the icon from the second one - done.
Or you could use the icon from the original top one, but call yourself "Helen Design"
But now I think we're just confusing you more. :-)
I like #2, #3, but I'm not a fan of the type in all lower case. I think the lower case thing has been done to death already. Also not sure why your last name has to be bold? Really nice mark for the logo I think that's excellent, for black and white and color. I don't know if the circle shape is as strong as the square, only because I've seen a lot of round xbox type logos lately, i still like it. Hmm, maybe drop the whole graphic designer or design tag on the bottom. It is already being implied when they see your work anyways, and may not need to have so much emphasis.
I like the type treatment from #1, though I'd nudge "graphic design(er)" a bit more to the right. I'm not digging the color blindness test logo though; it relies too much on color and won't translate well to simple black and white, plus the small dots are going to disappear when reduced.
So...
I vote the text from #1 with the icon from #3... but perhaps not in purple and orange.
Helpful, I know.
after all this why those colors, i like most of the symbols you got here, like #1 and #3 even #2 is kinda cute, i like the font on #1 but why are you using these colors? i dont like the orange-purple combo, i really like the symbol #1 and i dont think you will need to reduce the symbol more than this, it is very tiny already, and fits perfectly on a bussiness card
which i think is the smallest that can go.
I like 1 best for your purposes. Good font choice. The h/s mark is nice too, but I think it reads as more corporate.
