aitchmal0ne (220 pencils) | Tue, 2010-05-04 19:27i'm looking for the easiest way to have numbers inside of small circles. it's for a recipe page i'm working on and i want to give it a new element. is there a specific font or do i have to do it in illustrator then copy and past every time?!?!?!?

There is a font like that - probably multiple fonts. The one I know right off the top of my head is Agfa Numerics 1-5. Each version is slightly different - for instance, Numerics 1 is bold numbers in a white circle with a bold outline. Numerics 4 is a black circle with a bold white number knock-out, etc... Pick the one you like.
The other workaround is to just create the numbers in the circles... 1-9, however you want them and then just copy and past as you go along. Then you only have to create one set.
You can set inDesign to automatically put page numbers on the page. It's on the Type>insert special character>Markers menu.
Do this on your Master Page, then put a circle around the text box and voila!
You'd prolly better center justify the text box for best results.

There are some nice faces out there that cut out some of the work:

The problem I've found with many of them is that they may not be in keeping with the rest of your work - either the face used is off, or the space between the edge of the circle and the type is wrong.
The easier way is, as miklad says, to create the circle (in InDesign - if that's what you are working in) - add the type inside it (so converting it to a text box) and fiddling 'til the type is central. You can then copy, paste and edit as required.
