HELP Finder comments disabled

For some reason, when I open "Get Info" (cmd-I) in Finder I have no option for comments.

Does anyone know how to enable this option?

If you restarted into another user's workspace does the problem still exist? Are you the admin or just a normal user?

If you want you can download Cocktail (http://www.maintain.se/cocktail/) and run the pilot, that usually fixes strange bugs in your system that develop over time.

Hope this helps.

I just found a very DETAILED article. Doesn't really answer the question but apparently IF your permissions are screwed the .DS_Store file cannot be accessed for various icons and windows etc. SO repairing permissions (using cocktail MAY help)

Yes... uhm well, how stupid of me. I looked at an old article, and I presume in panther the comments were at the bottom of the window. In Tiger they are at the top. I think. It used to be "comments" and it's now "spotlight comments." I didn't realise that. It's very limited though. Is there any other way to comment files? (I'll be google®ing this anyway, but if anyone knows... a tip would be great.)

I did find a nice plugin that saves the download url of any file you save from Safari into the "spotlight comments". DownloadComment => http://www.ecamm.com/mac/free/

What I would really like is something that makes commenting on multiple files fast and easy.
