ren_nay (47 pencils) | Mon, 2008-09-15 00:55I have created a logo using Ambrosia and I cant seem to find a nice font as a secondary font to use for headings for promotional material. what would you guys suggest as a secondary font? I will try to attach my logo.... (needs to be a free font)
sorry about the poor quality of the image I had to paste it into photoshop from illustartor to save as a jpg I am sure there is an eaiser way to save it as a jpeg but I dont know it :)

More info needed here. What look are you going for? Hard to recommend a font otherwise...

Sure.... I am going for a clean corporate look but a few key words I have nutted out for the client are style, sophistication, uniqueness and reliabilitly.
I was thinking of Verdanda as it kind of suits ambrosia but was looking for something a bit more exciting.
It's bad enough you see it all over the web, don't use it for a logo either.
If you're wanting a nice sans serif font, go with the old standby—Helvetica or Univers. They are truly the BEST!

I loves me some Univers
Just go to the drop down menu, and under File, go down to Save for Web & Devices, and voila! You can save as a jpg or a gif.

I am a big fan of helvetica and will use it in my body copy but for the headings....
Univers doesnt seem to be a free font and Helvetica doesnt really go with the look and feel of my logo and the shapes I am using in the brochure and postcards i.e the rounded corners. Helvetica is too rounded.
I think you can build a really nice font system with just 2 fonts.
If you are going to use helvetica for the body copy then I would try to use Ambrosia (the one in the logo) for the headings as well. You would be surprised at what a different feel it can have from your logo by adjusting the weight, size, spacing, placement, and or color.
If you must bring in a 3rd font--I would bring in something radically different like a serif font. What about good old 'Garamond?'

I'd use Georgia; it's used in nearly all browsers and all computer systems.

And yet another suggestion...I've been on a Franklin Gothic kick lately...
