Help. I killed my fonts!
charlie (7 pencils) | Wed, 2004-12-15 14:02I just fired up Suitcase X1 after using FontAgent for a while. It told me I had to manage system fonts, so I switched it on and then got lots of dupes showing up.
I am now having trouble from all directions, with dupes, missing fonts and the like. What can I do?
I have a backup, btw, but what would I need to move?

can you post a screenshot? which fonts are corrupted?
do you have a backup of your system fonts? Library/Fonts? you may want to try to replace that with the backup.
Most likely, you are seeing duplicate fonts because OSX ships with a boat load of duplicate fonts installed. These pre-installed fonts are all .dfont whereas most of your collection is Type1 postscript fonts.
You are probably having a conflict with Helvetica, Helvetica Neue, Futura, Zapf Dingbats, Garamound and a few more. Also, Helvetica Fractions causes major problems and most people just delete it. I remove nearly all the fonts from all three LIBRARY folders.
