Where is this site coming from?

creativebits.org started in June 2004 as a personal blog of Ivan Raszl. Since then it grew into a small community of professionals, who actively help each other in their everyday problems and share their thoughts about their personal and professional life.

What does the name creativebits stands for?

It has two meanings. First, it describes what this site is all about, creative as a profession and bits as small pieces of information. Secondly, it suggests the site's effect on the reader, creative as a qualifying adjective and and bits as the smallest particles of your digital artwork.

Hi, my username here is "jonbalza" and I registered on March 1st of this year. As I was going through the forums, I noticed that my username is attached to several posts made by a user apparantly named "theboliep".

Examples of this can be found in these threads:
http://creativebits.org/node/583
http://creativebits.org/node/721
http://creativebits.org/node/1

Screenshots of what I am seeing are available here and here, in case you aren't getting the error on your end. As you can see from the shots, I can edit his posts.

I'm wondering if this may have something to do with the migration over to version 2 of cb.

Thanks for investigating this,
Jon

I was just wondering what script you used to allow user logins and automated registrations - would you be able to send me a copy for use on my own site?
Thanks.

The user login and registration is a part of the free Drupal installation. You can download Drupal here: http://drupal.org/project/releases

Hi Ivan,

Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be in the signature field? My signature keeps getting partially cut off (the last 20 characters or so). I have to manually complete it on each post.

There is a simple solution. Cut the line above the signatures to just 3 or 5 underscores to make space.

I've been hovering around this site a while, and finally decided to log in. Now I'm looking for an old 3-part article on taking nasty little JPEGs and making them fit to print. I've entered the title of the articles — "Supersize Your Images" — in the Search engine to no avail. Any clues for this newbie? Thanks.

Hi Ivan,

Love your site, just wish I had known that it had moved! I noticed a few weeks ago that the feed had stopped working, unbeknownst to me (and maybe a few others) you had moved your site.

Might be a good idea to put the old feed back in place with a single message telling people to update their feedreaders with the new location of the feed, I've got so much to catch up on now!

Great site! I have been using it longer than my membership for my user name indicates... ;)

Anyway, how do we get rid of spammers on the site? Go here for an example:
