Help with illustrator text!

Hello all,
I have a bit of a problem with re-creating a "retro" style text effect in illustrator, where the text is warped and distorted to fit a shape (not a line), like a circle, or a curve. I remember seeing a tutorial about this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I could draw it out, but sadly, I'm not doing very well since I don't have much experience with the "retro" style font. Anyone has any ideas about how to achieve this in Illustrator?

Thanks in advance. =D

CS now has great warp filters; so you can twist, flag and freely distort text/vector art. Go to Effect/Warp and play around to find the effect you're looking for. ;)

The typical way is Type On A Path. Draw a circle then, using the type tool, click on it around the edge/stroke (when the cursor changes) and insert some type. It will use the circle as it's path.
