Help with skin shadows

Hello. I am new here and have been reading and learning a lot. I do and am learning photo retouching (partly for my wife's photography business). I have been able to get fairly proficient with a lot a techniques, but am having trouble with skin shadows.

Using the link below, could someone elaborate on the steps to get the face shadow and the 3D dark shadow and highlight of the chest? Thanks in advance!

Hi Conway400, Welcome to CB

When I watched the before / after of the chest retouching, it does show a indenting in her left arm. This is giving me the hint that this has been achieved by using the 'Bloat Tool' (Found in the liquify, under the Filter menu) and then to emphasize the shadows and lighting - using the burn/dodge tools with low-med opacity.

Generally, shadows like you see on the demo are acheived with the burn tool, or you can use a standard brush on a new layer, and use layer effects like soft light / multiply to get the desired effect.

hope that helps!
