How can I make a flipbook?
tripdragon (416 pencils) | Tue, 2005-06-28 23:23Silly question, I saw a program for os9 that would export a quicktime moive into a layout that can be printed onto paper and cut into a flipbook.
So I thought Hey automator should be able to do this somehow. But I am at a lost in how to control photoshop or some layout app to drop the images in sequence as blocks...
Anyone ??

Before and After Magazine had a tutorial on a flipbook a few months back. You should email them to see if you can get the tutorial free if not you might need to buy the magazine for that month but if you do it is well worth the money!
I used to work for a company that made sports flipbooks.. We went under..
I don't know if this is how you'd do it, but we would order footage and digitize it using Avid. We would setup the export so it would export each frame as a PSD file. You can do the same with Quicktime.
As for setup.. We would remove certain frames to get to our 32 frame book, then we would put them into one document in photoshop. Then we'd doctor them up, color correction, legal issues, etc.
Once we were done with that we had an action setup to export each frame and number them 1-32. After that, we had a Quark template where we would just drop the images in and then it was ready.
Id suggest just starting a Quark document, create a master page with just one image box and then create however many pages as images you have and just drop the images in order then print it and cut it.. I don't know how quicktime would export it into a layout ready for print. This is just the basic wayt o do it, but would work..
