How dey do dat???
Kelly (7 pencils) | Tue, 2005-11-08 22:58Hey everyone,
I'm new to this forum and was hoping some of you experts out there could help a brutha out. I'm attaching a file of a halftone effect done as a vector. If anyone has any thoughts on the easiest way to do this it would be much appreciated. I have several hand gestures I want to mimic this style. I am using Illustrator CS.
Thanks in advance.

With Photoshop (Halftone Pattern Filter) and Illustrator CS2 (Live Trace) is easy, Now I thinking the way to achieve this in Illustrator CS...
Yes I do know how to do this in photoshop but I need this done in vector format. If you think of anything let me know. Thankyou.

But, the best method is still using photoshop.
I guess you could always create it in photoshop, and make a selection of the black dots and then create paths from selection in PS. Export those paths to illustrator and voila.

Make the image in Photoshop and then save it and live trace it in Illustrator.. Prefer the latest version in that case..
Thanks for all the help. I found that Jammo's suggestion of the PS paths method works best. I do not have CS2 yet but maybe it will be easier in that version. Thanks again everyone.
