How do I get this?
Donateko (126 points) | Sun, 2006-12-10 11:51Hello guys,
Do you know how to get this effect? (right)

I have the artwork (left), but I am thinking I will need some 3D software, as I cannot figure out how to do it with PS.
Help Please...

I think that can be achieved in PS. You will probably have to "spherize" your logo (only alittle) and add perspective using the transform tool. Then overlay a gradient to give it the 3d shine appearance.
.......but yes you could easily achieve this in a 3d program by making your logo into an image map and applying it to a oval object. If you don't have a 3d program available, do a search for bryce 3d, im sure its free these days.

I tried your advise, the "spherize" seems to be one step, but the "perspective" tool is not working.

To get a tight fit for the design the object, create a mask of the form. Then start using Free Transform to shape it to your will. ;)

It can be done in 3D Max or alike using UV mapping or by PS distort but you have to have a high-res destination image.
