How Get color consistent betwen applications?
acm7110 (60 pencils) | Wed, 2004-12-08 00:40Sorry for my english... I try to explain that I need:
Question: How can I get consistent color betwen Photshop CS and Illustrator CS?
Example: I have the logo of the company where I work in Illustrator, and this have the Pantone 185-C, when I copy from AI and paste that logo in PS change de color values, then that I get not match whith the same pantone created in PS itself. No matter what Color setting I try in both applications, always the results are different in each case. Even I get diferent result if I export from AI to a PS file the logo.
How can fix this????
Thank's for your help.[/b]

Do you have color manangement turned on in Photoshop and Illustrator?
The colors should look the same if color manangement is turned on.

Yes I have it, and I try to different configuratons (same & different in both applications)
Are you using CMYK files both for Ai and PSD?
Do you have checked in Photoshop
"US prepress defaults"?
I get everything matching perfect here between ai, ID and PS.
I just did a test and did a "square" in ai copied and pasted in photoshop,
dragged it from Photoshop back to ai and matched it to he original square...they look exctly the same...
Double check you color setting in PSD again...
Hope that helps.....

You will know fear...Then you will know pain.
Then you will use a Mac.
I try all your suggestions and the only way that I can fix the problem was this:
Same Color managment settings: US Prepress Defaults.
Disable de option PDF in the clipboard settings (in AI).
Paste in Photoshop like Shape layer.
???????

I'm so stupid, of course that I get the same results in the last configuration (down in the right), because when I paste like shape layer, Photoshop assign the color for the shape from your palette and it's NOT import nothig more than the shape... Nevermind, I still looking for a solution =(
Usefull info about this...

It's pretty rare that you get accurate AND consistent color between Photoshop & andy other program, simply because of the bitmap nature of Photoshop. But there are a lot of resources available from Adobe's web site, as well as a Google search.
