How to make a professional take out menu
Cruisin Chicken (5 pencils) | Fri, 2008-01-18 04:10I have been searching for two days now and can't figure out how to make my own nice take out menu for my new restaurant. Can someone please show me how or atleast point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

What type of software do you have to work with?

Find a good designer. Hire that person.

Some people have to try designing something before they realize that's the direction to take.

I thought I was too the point, but not undiplomatic. I'm diplomatic to a fault. :)
Seriously, would you go ask a bunch of mechanics how to fix your car or pay them to fix it for you? This is what irks me about how people perceive graphic design: Everyone thinks they can do it without any knowledge, training or experience.

I wanted them to "have some fun with design" for a few hours, you know, realize how easy it is to do, and wonder why we get paid for doing this for a living.
I agree with your words. And like a mechanic friend of mine said to a restaurant owner client of his who wanted to save some money by bringing his own auto parts in for my friend, "Hey, buddy, do I bring eggs to your restaurant?" Small-shop mechanics throw some points on those parts. Their part of his wage.
Frustration for this person lies only a phone call away. Plus the eventual designer at the other end of the line might gain a bit more respect and no begrudgement of work.
