i designology logo
miatoro (8 pencils) | Wed, 2009-06-24 09:29I am launching a website for my graphic design services. I prefer print, but also design for web as well as front and back end web development. Besides design and development, my husband and I offer usability and functional analysis. I am currently working on adding on a bit of Flash animation in my services.
I couldn’t decide it I wanted to stay with just the “i” and play with an eye for the dot, or include the “d”.
I am looking forward to your comments.

congrats on coming with multiple concepts. 3 and 5 might be a little too religious for me. I think the best one so far would be 2, it seems more artsy, the others just seem uninspired. You're on the right track. Remember K.I.S.S.
Edit: How ignorant of me, when I meant religious, I was thinking Islam, but their symbol is actually a mirror of this one.

Thanks for that insight. After researching, I could totally see what you are saying.
It is clean and simple. Nice work.
For some reason it looks off center though. Sometimes when we use the "align" tool it may be centered technically, but not visually.
Maybe move the "D" a click or two to the right.

I think you're right. I will correct that. Thanks
I really like 2, the logo could stand on its own and still looks nice with its name underneath. I also like 4 but the text looks like an after thought... maybe if you could incorporate it more with the graphic (change the angle of the text line to maybe curve more with the "i" or something so that its not just "off to the side" so to say...)
Good ideas!
love what you do, do what you love
I'll try your recommendation on #4. Thanks
I agree that 2 is the strongest - I think you need to ensure that the dot at the top left of the D is an even distance away from both ends of the rest of the letter. Also, while the thickness of the left of the D looks about right, I would ensure that it is consistently that thick all the way around - the top part of the D doesn't look as thick as the dot. Also consider rounding the corners of the D to suit.
I'm not a fan of using initials as a logo. What icon represents your business? I'd explore that before calling this one done. The biz name and the icon aren't in a good balance.
