Im taking a portfolio class and we need to bring in examples of other designers cards and letterheads, as well as coverletters that you may have sent out for perspective jobs. Anything you guys could contribute would be awesome so I've something to bring in tomorrow (Coverletters especially since I can't fnd those easily in other places). Thanks in advance guys!

When I was putting my contract, resume and cover letter together, I had no idea where to begin. What I did was google "graphic design cover letter samples", "graphic design contract samples," and so on. You'd be amazed at what will pop up.
I was able to take several different contracts & cover letters and compose one for myself, obviously using my own experience, etc. but it really helps with grammar and sounding professional.
I would send you my cover letter, but honestly—it's lame. LOL

Dear Mr./Ms. Last Name,
I am very interested in the entry-level position that is available at ABC Company. I recently graduated from University name and actively seeking employment with firms in the San Diego area. My courses in investments and business have given me a strong base upon which I plan to build my career.
During my college internships, I conducted market research while handling numerous administrative tasks.
I have enclosed my resume for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration.
It would be a pleasure to interview with you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We made one in our big portfolio class that we had to take before we graduated. I take that and edit it for each job I apply for. Oddly enough, the only job I've gotten is the one I DIDN'T attach a cover letter to (applied on their website).
There is an order you're supposed to do it in but right now I can't remember. By looking at my last cover letter I sent it looks like this is the order:
First paragraph is what you're applying for and how you can benefit them.
2nd is misc skills not mentioned in #1.
3rd is what you're currently doing
Lastly, you say how you want to schedule an interview and look forward to hearing from them soon. blah blah...
