Iklectek Designs

I've been a member for a while and never submitted anything to be critiqued. My wife and I formed a new business and have a lot of designs posted on our site, but no honest critiques. I included the logo of our company, and just need some constructive criticism. Please take a look at the site. www.iklectekdesigns.com. Not everything is functional (ie the blog). But to get the company off the ground, any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.

legibility problem.
• The first impression is "KLECTEK". The "i" looks like an added decorative element, not as a letter in the word.
• The "i" reads as an "L". The confusing second read is "L KLECTEK".
• Three typefaces in one logotype, maybe a rework so that it reads as "iklectek" will find a better solution.
Since you've already implemented this logo on your website, business cards, tees, and myspace page and it's been out in the public eye ... has anyone ever made this comment about the legibility of your name?
I have not had the legibility issue
When people pronouce what they read as straight copy "iklectek designs" they have had a problem, but most have been outsourced customer service representitives. Other than the logo itself could you leave some feedback about the site itself.
The "i" was created by hand to give a non-typeset feel and add accent to the serif typeface, rather than a total web 2.0 logo.

I'm not convinced.
In addition to the problem I see with the logo you need to take extra care with the name as it appears in normal text. Even when displayed in the Arial text on your website home page, the sans serif cap "I" looks identical to the lowercase "L", it reinforces one to read it as "LKLECTEK".
If Arial is your choice, then it seems like you need to use the lowercase "i" so it reads as "iklectek" (or even a simple fix like changing the font to Verdana would put a slab serif on the cap)
You sell this studio logo on tee shirts?
Agree completely with the above...
Not that legible, good concept and illustration style but it doesn't work and why Iklectec and not Eclectic?
Something Different
We wanted someting different, so we went with the spelling of the pronunciation in the dictionary. However, other than the "illegiblity" of the logo, is there anything I can do with the site. Also, did you look at the shirts. I can't really change the logo now, since I have business cards coming.

Too bad
Too bad the logo is pretty much set. I would have bet real money that the first letter is a capital "L" and not a capital "i". Even so it still reads "L Klectek" to me. It's a very pretty letter but no legibility. Maybe, however, that's not much of a problem for you.
The site is simple and functional but bland. I really think you need something more elegant and matching the logo better, including the colors. (white background, brown text, orange links) As it is the site is disconnected from that. Also remember to stay consistent!
Not working! Too many styles
Not working! Too many styles in this logo. Most importantly it lacks an idea.
at first glance i passed by
at first glance i passed by the i/l all together and read klectek! but i like it none the less. why is there not a gift basket on your front page? i would have never guessed that was what you were selling. The pictures of the gift baskets seem generic not eclectic and whats so important about the light show?
