how's it look without all of the web2.0 effects stuff on it? those colors will be hard to reproduce accurate with all of the gradients all over the place.
i don't think it's very effective to have a logo where the actual words are fading out (property management). nor do i quote get why "property management" is on a curve like that. there are no other curves in the logo anywhere. seems very out of place.
in general, it's pretty cliche. that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not necessarily a good thing, either. but i definitely think the whole gradient/fading/shadows/gloss/reflection stuff is way overdone (both in general and on your logo here). using too much of that stuff means it will be dated very soon.
logos should be built with strong legs and a basic foundation. this is why people here harp on "designing it in black and white" first. if it works in B&W, that's ultimately flexible. if it only works with lots of effects and colors, then it's not really a very good solution.
Property management looks like it is disappearing, which isn't a great way to get the message across. The curve doesn't make a whole lot of sense either.
'I am a patient boy, I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait'
I'd go for this only if the property being managed is clouds, or maybe ice castles (could be, considering Buffalo).
Wy don't you provide us with your rationale for this design? How do you believe it meets your client's needs?

thanks for responding rather fast guys! I have actually changed the words property management and completelt took out the gradient. This logo is mainlt web based right now so the colors wouldn't be a problem unless the get it printed on shirts. and the company never gave me any ideas, it was just all off the top of my head. believe it or not, they were quite satisfied with its outcome. I always have a hard time with logos when it comes to color. I get carried away and never really create them first in black and white like gwells stated above. I have to get into that technique or I will be doomed down the road. And again, thanks for the critique guys! much appreciated!
not just tshirts. letterhead, business cards, signage, all of those things will be more difficult to reproduce (and a little more expensive).
I think you need a stronger idea. And also when you execute it think about contrast and try to make it as simple as possible. First design the logo in black and white and see if it works.
Always start designing a logo as it would be printed then build the logo from there. I don't know what you are trying to convey with this logo but my first guest would be that your clients would be gay or lesbian. Sorry but the rainbow already has a place in society and unfortunately everytime you use it, it is thought of this way. Plus these aren't the colors that the house will be I assume you want the logo to go with what you are trying to sell. The logo would be better in a solid and change the font on Property Management. I would love to see where you go with this because there seems to be a bit of potential.

hrm... i must be "unhip" or something. i didn't get "gay or lesbian" at all from this. effeminate or feminine, maybe, but not gay or lesbian.
Hmm. An interesting reaction. This isn't quite a triangle, though, not quite lavender, and it isn't quite a rainbow. I think that's probably barking up the wrong tree. If this were indeed a company catering to the GLBT community, I think most of the principals would be quick to point out that it doesn't make a strong enough business statement.
"Fruity"? Isn't that a little 1953? ;-)
