Illustrator CS3 color profile warning
el_reverend (134 points) | Mon, 2009-04-06 21:31Hello all,
does anyone know how to disable the Illustrator CS3 dialog box that informs me that my current color settings honor CMYK linked files? I can either quit or continue to open the file, but I HATE the distraction and extra step. It drives me a little insane.
Some of the files are old and created with an old version of Illustrator while other files are new. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. I had this going on too. It all started when I was helping a coworker with a file and it wasn't printing out right... and I was lazy for a really really long time and didn't fix it. And now, any time anyone opens one of my old files, they get that warning. Bad news is that I make all the templates for my office. :)
It's Edit>color settings> change the color management part to "preserve embedded profiles" and "preserve numbers (ignore linked profiles)". At least, that's what mine are at now and I don't get the error anymore. Unchecking all the check boxes below probably helps too. Hell, I don't remember what I did to fix it! I just know what it has now is what makes it better. Hope this helps regardless.
