Illustrator Issue, any advice?

Hi, I'm quite a novice--this is my first time using Illustrator, and I really honestly don't know what I'm doing. But I've managed to figure some things out.

Anyway, at some point, several objects (text and lines) have seemed to change so that I can no longer select them. Everything is on one layer. I don't remember doing anything weird (but I may have).

Any idea what I can do/what happened?
