Illustrator Website
Artfiend (70 pencils) | Tue, 2007-09-18 04:10Ok guys, so this is my first posting...this is an idea I have for my website. It's an Illustrators Portfolio Website for myself and after playing around with some ideas ( pages and pages of thumbnails) I came up with this. As an Illustrator, I tend to find myself coming up with ideas in places such as cafes, libraries and so on and so forth. Basically, I wanted to show a kind of determination in me, a sense of creativity and not just do the same regular cut and paste ideas for a website. This is a reworked ( and reworked) idea I came up with the other night. Each page would've been a different image...a page from a sketchbook showing the spiral binding, a napkin, the back of a bill from a restaurant, even my hand, places where you would jot down ideas, thoughts or quick concepts...each "concept" page would have a custom made logo, as in this example of the home page being a diner. I even thought of having a matchbook for the contact page, as you would write someones phone number on it. Anyways, be as brutally honest AND constructive as possible guys, like I know you all will be! Oh, and another thing, no trees were harmed during the conceptualizing of this website :)

and the area surrounding it will be where I place contact info....short bio....list of services and the and slide show of my artwork, each on their respective pages. It'll be done in Flash, cause that's another service I want to add to my list of things I can offer clients..nothing too tacky of course. The entire site will be optimized to be as light as possible. I find the logo with my name is not dark enough, upon looking at the page now.
Any ideas on the other concepts for the pages? Should each page be a different concept, with the same links and presentation space layout, or just keep this one and have every page look like this, in general?
