I dunno if I'll bend that far, but I think its funny they care in the first place, they have 99% of the market already!!

My friends who worked for Microsoft in Europe couldn't rave about them enough as a good employer. Ironically another friend who toiled for Apple was pretty disgusted at the way they treated people.

Funny how the public and corporate personas can be so contrasting

Haha, sooo true. Regardless of what we say or think about MS they definitely take care of their employees. They do however have a bad rep here for contracting as much and for as long as possible before taking people on as employees. I'll take what I can get though!

I really don't want to get sucked into it though, I'd much prefer working for a small innovative design firm, but I'm in need of experience before I think I'll be ready for a great firm anyhow.

I heard the 3rd party design computers that MS was handing out for the new Xbox were apple G5s..... not sure if it was true, but pretty cool if it was!

The new Xbox is running on the IBM PowerPC chipset, so it would make sense that they would send out G5s. I recall reading that awhile ago about that being the case. Nintendo is also running on the same chipset, though modified.

Wasn't a guy who worked in the mac division in Redmond actually fired after taking photos of new Powermac G5's arriving in a truck to Redmond?

Whatever happened to him? Apple gave him a job? :lol:

i seem to remember xbox2 having g5's as well. and not just one, but 3 or 5 of them.

Well, 2 interviews later, I've accepted an offer from MS. You guys won't believe this, but my job will be to do the graphics for promo stuff for Longhorn, and other cool stuff like internal "moral boosting" flash movies/sites whatever...

I'm still dazed and confused.

Thanks Ivan!! I don't feel so bad since most of the designers in my department use both osx and windows. My interviewer actually had a G4 imac. So I won't be too ashamed to show my face around here:)
